There has been a fundamental shift in the risk landscape and the spotlight has never shone brighter on risk management in Australia. With the Hayne royal commission in full swing and with the aged care royal commission on the horizon, we are living in times where we have encountered failures in governance processes across the three lines of defence of management and oversight within several venerable organisations.

The solution is to view risk through a new lens. As a profession, we need to broaden our view of risk in a way that enables risk management professionals to ask the best questions — to convert risk into an opportunity that adds value to our respective businesses.
