Dr Greg Adamson

Greg Adamson convenes the human rights committee of the Australasian Cyber Law Institute (ACLI) and is Technical Activities vice-president of IEEE Society on the Social Implications of Technology. (IEEE is the 400,000-member global technology professional association known for standards such as Wi-Fi.) He holds qualifications in engineering, information technology, and Internet studies, as well as a Master of Commercial Law from the Melbourne Law School. He is an honorary principal fellow at the University of Melbourne School of Population and Global Health.

Dr Adamson is an authority on professional codes of ethics in the technology field and previously chaired IEEE’s global Ethics and Member Conduct Committee. He has worked in the field of cybersecurity for three decades in health, public sector, finance, and transport. He is a published researcher on understanding the limitations of explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), and he leads an ACLI sub-committee on XAI and human rights.
