Richard John Douglas QC

BCom (Hons), LLB (Hons)

Richard was admitted to the Bar in 1980 and elevated to the rank of Senior Counsel in 1998 and Queen’s Counsel in 2013.  He is a current member of the Bar Association of Queensland (President November 2009 to November 2011).  He is chair of the Bar Association of Queensland general litigation advisory committee and deputy chair of the Association’s professional standards committee.

He practises in Queensland and interstate in civil trial and appellate advocacy, with associated advisory practice.  He is a member and director of Hemmant’s List and a nationally accredited and experienced mediator.

He has appeared in many of the leading cases construing the pre-procedure and Ipp civil liability legislation of Queensland.
