In-House Counsel Seminar

Technology for In-house Counsel:
What's used, what's useful and what it means for you

The recent thought leadership seminar ‘Technology for in-house counsel: what’s used, what’s useful and what it means for you’ was a great success.

Chrissy Burns, Director, IT and Knowledge, Blake Dawson, proved to be an excellent speaker and she opened up a good discussion amongst the guests.

There is little research or discussion about technology to assist in-house legal teams. One helpful guide to what is useful is the experience of other teams. As part of her doctoral research Chrissy surveyed in-house legal teams about their use of technology. She presented the results of the survey and the broader lessons from her research; about what is likely to represent a sensible investment in technology for in-house teams.

The following discussion mainly focused on matter management.  There was much concern shown over getting a system in place, and what the choices and benefits were of an online versus paper based system.
