History and Alerts in Nexis

Nexis has a variety of functions built in to help you re-use previous research activity. It also provides you with the means of keeping up-to-date on issues of importance to you. This is all possible via the History and Alerts tab, which gives you the following options:

Recent Searches
For your convenience, Nexis keeps track of every search run from your account in the past seven days.To re-run a search, open 'Recent Searches' and click on 'Run'.

Recent Documents
Nexis also maintains a record of every article you have viewed in the past 48 hours. This allows you to save time by not having to remember which search you constructed. Simply click on the document title in order to review it.

Saved Searches
If you require access to a search beyond the seven days provided by 'Recent Searches', you can use the 'Save Search' feature. Searches can be saved either by the ‘Save This Search’ link on each search page, or via the ‘Save Search’ option under the 'Next Steps' dropdown on every 'Results' page.

Alerts
Many customers use alerts to stay on track of recent developments in an area of interest. Alerts consist of searches that are run on a regular basis (for example, daily). New search results are sent to you via email. This minimises time spent having to continually re-run searches and analysing results for new items of interest. To create an alert, run the search of interest, and click on 'Create Alert'. Alerts can be removed from the 'Alerts' section of this tab.
