John K Arthur

  

John signed the Bar Roll in 1989. His principal area of practice is general commercial litigation, including contract, sale of land, property, professional negligence, corporations, equity, estates and insolvency. He is particularly interested in alternative dispute resolution. His work ranges across the Victorian court hierarchy, federal courts and VCAT.

John is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and ACICA and a national councilor of the Australian Branch of CIArb. He is a Nationally Accredited Mediator and empanelled with KLRCA as arbitrator, adjudicator & mediator.

John has published and presented many articles, and seminars on topics in the areas of contract law, equity, property, sale of land, wills and estates, professional conduct and international commercial arbitration. See: http://www.gordonandjackson.com.au/online-library.

John is a co-author of Civil Procedure Victoria, and Australian Uniform Evidence (LN) as well as author of several chapters in Bankruptcy Law and Practice and Court Forms Precedents and Pleadings Victoria.

John is married with 4 children.
