About Breen

Breen worked in the Workplace Relations Group at Corrs from 1997 until 1999, and was a partner from1999 until 2008. He has been a Professor of Law at RMIT University since 2009, and a Special Adviser to the Workplace Relations Group since early 2011. He has held academic appointments at the University of Edinburgh, University of Melbourne and La Trobe University. Other relevant positions have included Legal Officer at the ACTU (1986), Principal Legal Officer, ILO (Geneva) (1988-91) and head of an Interdepartmental Taskforce on Ratification of ILO Conventions for the Commonwealth Government (1991-92). Breen has served on various public bodies in Australia, and has acted as adviser to governments, employers, employer organisations and trade unions both in Australia and overseas. He has published extensively in the fields of employment law, labour law, occupational health and safety, equal opportunity law and international labour law.
