About Kerryn

Kerryn Smith is a director of Institutional Product & Client Engagement in Fixed Income Currency & Commodities (“FICC”) at National Australia Bank (“NAB”) in Sydney.

Since joining NAB in 2007, Kerryn has held a variety of roles including Head of Operational Risk & Compliance FICC (on trading floor) (acting), Senior Legal Counsel in the Markets and International Legal team and Principal Counsel for the Wholesale Banking Legal and nabCapital Legal teams and he has providing advice on derivatives, OTC regulation, regulatory investigations, syndicated lending, project finance, structured asset finance and securitisation. Prior to this, Kerryn worked in London for GE Capital, Ford Financial Europe and Barclays Bank, and practiced as a barrister in Brisbane.

Kerryn chaired the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (“APLMA”) Australian Documentation Committee from December 2013 until June 2017, and chaired a subcommittee reviewing APLMA’s loan agreements to reflect changes in the BBSW conventions.
