Christopher Russo
Christopher practices in the areas of information and communication technology, procurement, intellectual property, competition and general commercial law.
Christopher is regularly involved in the drafting and negotiating of complex transactional documents for a variety of public and private sector clients, as well advising on their contractual and statutory obligations.
Christopher has particular expertise in:
- corporate structuring and commercial agreements
- cloud services and broader information and communication technology
- tendering and procurement (including outsourcing arrangements)
- the application of the Corporations Act, Competition and Consumer Act, Privacy and Data Protection Act and Privacy Act.
Christopher works with clients from a wide range of industries including information technology, government, telecommunications, professional services and the education sector.
Christopher is also a regular contributor to Maddocks’ popular technology blog TechKnowChat.

About ChristopherRecent experience includes:
- advising Samsung on a Knox Reseller Agreement with a large telecommunications company
- advising Optus on the use of electronic signatures for its Optus Business operations
- advising the Department of Justice & Regulation on its invitation to supply for a new traffic camera system to be used by Infringement Management and Enforcement Services
- drafting a Supply Services Agreement for the Department of Justice & Regulation on its invitation to supply for Road Pavement Construction services
- advising .auDA Domain Administration Ltd on an application by a third party to become a registrar of .au domains
- advising the Fair Work Commission on its negotiations with a third party vendor for a new case management platform
- advising the Transport Accident Commission on a Supply Services Agreement with Swinburne University
- advising State Trustees on its transition to a public cloud environment and the procurement of Microsoft products and services
- advising Victoria Legal Aid on its agreement renewal with Microsoft
- advising the Transport Accident Commission on a Supply Services Agreement with Swinburne University
- advising SecureWorx on general matters including the drafting of responses to invitation to supply agreements
Christopher is also a board member of the Victorian Society for Computers and the Law.
Prior to joining Maddocks, Christopher worked as in-house legal counsel at Telstra and Sensis.
