    Precedents Masterclass

    This masterclass will show you how to: (1) create a simple precedent using the WordLink FieldBuilder tool to populate client- and matter-specific information; and (2) create a more complex precedent that utilises scripting in order to make decisions and interact with the user. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and to see why certain tools and techniques are used.

    Prerequisites

    We recommend watching: https://www.lexiscare.com.au/node/12846 prior, but we will be looking at some introductory scripting methods so an open, curious mind would be beneficial.

      • Precedents

      We will:
      • create a basic letter (for example, a letter to clients introducing a new partner)
      • use the WordLink FieldBuilder tool to populate mergefields within our precedent
    3. Creating a simple scripted precedent: 60 mins approx.
      We will:
      • create a simple script to achieve the same outcome as above
      • use some introductory scripting techniques, such as making multiple selections, using If…Else… statements,  etc.
      • utilise InsertDocs and mergefields to construct our precedent

    Reporting  Masterclass

    This masterclass will show you how to: (1) create an Excel Report using the CSV export function from a standard report and keep the link to the export file (2) create a TOPN   DEV Express Report using the limit function in filters

    Prerequisites

    We recommend Dev Express training prior, for the second part of the masterclass, but we will be looking at Excel reporting first and this only requires basic Excel knowledge..

    • Creating an Excel Report linked to an exported CSV file 30 mins approx.
      • A brief overview of the report to be created
      • How to export a standard report to CSV
      • How to keep the link to the above exported CSV file

      • Create a new schema and use the limit filter
