Australian Human Rights Commission & LexisNexis Launch Vietnamese version of RightsApp
The world’s first mobile reference guide to international human rights law is now in Vietnamese
Sydney, 27 August 2019: LexisNexis wishes to congratulate the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) on successfully launching the Vietnamese version of RightsApp, the world’s first mobile application designed for users to quickly and easily access international human rights legislation including conventions, treaties and agreements.
The development of RightsApp was a pro-bono collaboration between LexisNexis® and the AHRC in 2017 and the phone app has since won multiple prestigious awards in both business and social justice categories.
“Advancing the rule of law is one of our most fundamental core values at LexisNexis,” says Greg Dickason, Managing Director of LexisNexis Pacific.
“We were extremely honoured to have partnered with the Commission to develop RightsApp in 2017 and we are equally honoured today to support the Commission in their work to advance the equal and free access of human rights on a more global scale.”
“An important step in the realisation of human rights is having the language of international human right instruments available for everyone. This will now be possible through the release of RightsApp Vietnam,” says Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher AM, President of the Australian Human Rights Commission.
“The Commission is delighted to partner with LexisNexis and the Ho Chi Minh Academy of Politics in developing the Vietnamese version of RightsApp. Through this innovative app, we are able to put human rights in the hands of many.”
“The Vietnamese version of RightsApp is supported by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.”
RightsApp is available for free for both iOS and Android devices.
