LexisNexis Pacific Recognised as One of the 2012 BRW Most Innovative Companies in Australia
World-first legal referencing app revolutionises legal research.
LexisNexis® Australia (www.lexisnexis.com.au), a leading provider of content and technology solutions for the legal and corporate markets, has been recognised as one of the 2012 BRW Most Innovative Companies.
The 2012 BRW Most Innovative Companies list ranks Australia's 30 most innovative businesses, celebrating pioneering organisations that are committed to turning inspiration into innovation.
Innovations like LexisNexis Red are shaping the future of legal research and revolutionising the way lawyers work.
Ranking 12th in the list, LexisNexis was praised for the creation of LexisNexis® Red™, the world's first mobile digital referencing tool designed specifically for the needs of legal practitioners.
The LexisNexis Red app allows lawyers and legislators to carry and instantly access the most up-to-date legal research and reference materials via their iPad, whether they are online or offline.
"Innovations like LexisNexis Red are shaping the future of legal research and revolutionising the way lawyers work. For us, LexisNexis Red represents one of the first steps to ensuring that the information that professionals need is at their fingertips wherever they may be, whatever device they may be using," said LexisNexis Pacific CEO, TJ Viljoen.
"Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at LexisNexis and is embedded at the very start of our product development process. Our in-depth Customer Discovery and Innovation program allows us to spend time with our customers to genuinely understand the challenges they face, and helps us develop tomorrow's cutting-edge products," continued Viljoen.
Since the app's launch earlier this year, iPads with LexisNexis Red have been rolled out to all of NSW's 280 dedicated in-court police prosecutors, replacing the department's existing hard copy resources.
"Mobile phones, laptops and tablet devices have enabled unprecedented connectivity, and an expectation that we can access relevant information anywhere and at any time," said Police Prosecutions Commander, Chief Superintendent Tony Trichter.
"We worked with LexisNexis to develop the application, which will revolutionise the way we access law resources in the courtroom and dramatically reduce the number of heavy paper-based resources we will need to lug around," Chief Superintendent Trichter said.
