Philip Duncan

LLB B.Econ

Philip is an experienced migration specialist with a breadth of experience across migration law and practice. He has been a registered migration agent since 2004. He is currently Discipline Leader of the Australian Catholic University Diploma in Migration Law and Practice, and also taught in the Australian National University Graduate Certificate and Masters migration programs. He is a regular presenter of CPD to migration agents and lawyers.
He consults to the international Newland Chase group of companies. He previously managed the Brisbane migration team of KPMG. He is experienced in corporate migration, consulting to large corporates on their migration programs, labour agreements, and compliance issues. He also specialises in complex review cases involving character and other cancellations.

He was admitted to the Queensland Bar in 2004 and held a practising certificate until 2014 when he joined KPMG.

Philip is one of the General Editors for Lexis Nexis’s Immigration Review.

Membership

  • Philip has been a member of the Migration Institute of Australia since 2004 and has served as Vice President of the MIA Qld, where he headed the Advocacy interest group.

  • 2019 – Conference Chairman MIA Qld State Conference 2019. Chaired sessions on Qld Migration and the Pacific, and Qld Regional Issues and Economy
  • 2018 – Session Chair ‘Ethical Issues in Migration Law – Conflicts of Interest’ Law Council of Australia Migration Law Conference.
