Jie (Jeanne) Huang

Dr. Jie (Jeanne) Huang is an associate professor at the University of Sydney Law School in Australia. She is widely known for her research on legal issues in digital trade and e-commerce, especially conflict-of-laws issues in cross-border privacy protection and data regulation issues in free trade agreements.

She has published four books and authored many articles in leading peer-reviewed law journals, such as Journal of International Economic Law and Journal of Private International Law. Twelve of her articles are indexed by SSCI.

She maintains close research collaboration with Chinese scholars, think tanks and practitioners. As a chief investigator, she is funded by China National Social Science Fund general project (equivalent to Australian ARC) on the e-commerce regulations in the Comprehensive and Progressive Transpacific Partnership and China’s strategy. In the past decade, she also received funding from University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, China Ministry of Education, the China Law Society, Shanghai Philosophy and Social Science Fund, and Shanghai Government Development and Research Center Fund on research topics related to international trade and investment regulations.

She has been interviewed for Chinese law and related dispute resolution by ABC News Australia,CAAMA radio, Your Money (TV Channel), Jiefang Daily (解放日报)and Wenhui Daily (文汇报).

She is an arbitrator at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Shanghai International Arbitration Centre.
