Joint feedback on the Mineral Development Taskforce - Final Report dated December 2022
Central Land Council (CLC), Northern Land Council (NLC)

Traditional owners and Aboriginal communities located near mines are the Territorians most significantly impacted by negative aspects of mining. Yet the MDT Report inadequately represents their voices. These deficiencies must be rectified. This submission sets out a set of recommendations to address these issues. The NTG must work with Land Councils towards a common goal of sustainable and responsible mining practices that benefit the community, especially traditional owners and Aboriginal communities located near mines. Effective engagement aligns with the stated political narrative of responsible mining industry participants.
