Journal of Contract Law

The Journal of Contract Law (JCL) is devoted to the comprehensive analysis of current issues and developments in contract law, both in Australia and overseas. The JCL is a refereed journal and its Editorial Board comprises leading international contract scholars. The JCL publishes in-depth articles, as well as shorter articles and comments, review articles, and book reviews.

The JCL is available in hard copy and online. Each volume of the journal comprises three issues.

John Carter (General Editor) is Professor, Emeritus, University of Sydney and a Consultant to Herbert Smith Freehills. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law. John has been General Editor of the Journal of Contract Law since the publication of its first issue in 1988.

Ryan Catterwell (Associate Editor) is a solicitor practising in the field of commercial dispute resolution at King & Wood Mallesons. He has experience in disputes relating to regulatory investigations, financial advice, anti-competitive conduct, breach of contract and the interpretation and enforcement of contractual rights. Ryan is also published on the subject of contract construction, and he has assisted in the publication of several books regarding the topic, including working closely with Professor J W Carter on The Construction of Commercial Contracts.
