SYDNEY, 9 August 2010 – LexisNexis® Australia (www.lexisnexis.com.au), a leading provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, has announced the general availability of Lexis® Affinity Library version 2.6. The newest update to the practice management solution delivers more intuitive workflow automation, along with improved ease of use, enabling law firms to run their business more efficiently and profitably.
"We are excited that we are now able to offer a complete practice management solution for the Pacific," said Marc K Peter, Director of Marketing at LexisNexis Pacific. "Incorporating more than 700 requests for software changes, release 2.6 of Lexis Affinity Library shows our product development process reflects a continuous commitment to responding to client needs. The latest version enables firms to experience more efficient workflows, improving productivity and helping firms to achieve excellence in the practice and business of law."
The new features and functionalities include synchronisation with Microsoft® Outlook data, allowing tasks, contacts and appointments to be shared between Lexis Affinity Library and Outlook Exchange, thus eliminating the need for redundant diary and task keeping, and to help ensure that nothing is overlooked.
"We're very excited about the two-way integration with Outlook available in the new version of Lexis Affinity Library," said Bronwyn Pott, Chief Executive at Swaab Attorneys. "By synchronising Outlook data, our people can pass around diary and task information without referring to multiple diaries. All communications with an individual client or relating to a particular matter can be easily tracked, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely fashion and critical dates are always visible."
In addition, there are several key enhancements for document management and research. Deeper integration with Interwoven®, one of the world’s leading document management systems, creates the ability to securely share critical client or matter-related content between Lexis Affinity Library and Interwoven, resulting in automated and simpler document management. Improved linking to Espreon® online searches enables users to quickly access all Espreon search functionalities online and to save search results against client matters and automatically post sundry charges without requiring user input.
Other enhancements include multi-party billing to enable users to allocate percentages of bills across multiple parties making the billing process easier and to ensure accuracy. In addition, the new conflict checker rapidly searches for conflicts of interest between parties during matter inception to ensure all conflicts are easily detected in the earliest stages.
For the New Zealand market there is further localisation including improvements to the combined ledger and other general enhancements to help firms streamline operations across the region.
