SYDNEY, February 2006 - LexisNexis Australia, a leading provider of legal and business information solutions, will be entering the tax market with the launch of its next generation tax information products. Five premium tax products will be released between February to April 2006. These premium products deliver information to tax professionals in the accounting and legal markets in a format structured specifically for their working needs on a transactional basis.
For over 90 years, LexisNexis Australia has offered an extensive range of legal information services. Current solutions include online and print legal, regulatory, news, business and public records information products, tools and customised web applications. The LexisNexis online platform is ranked as Australia’s most preferred legal information service. Due to the increased specialisation of accounting and legal roles, LexisNexis realised there was a growing need for an alternative to the non-specific information currently available on the market.
“We see a growing need for an alternative to the generic, encyclopaedic tax information that’s been in the market for a long time. Practitioners have been keen to see something different. The time’s right for the next generation of tax information - structured specifically for their current working needs,” says Pip Hughes, Corporate Divisional Director, LexisNexis. Time-poor tax professionals need focused, solutions-based, practical, non-generic tax information. LexisNexis have found a fresh, innovative way to meet their information needs with the next generation tax information products. These products break down information into answers for specific tax related scenarios, making it easier for tax professionals to give better and more practical advice.
LexisNexis’ next generation tax products are written on a transactional basis - in the same way that professionals work on tax. For instance, products tackle tax transactions rather than going through the tax law section by section. Highly credible authors practising in the legal and accounting segment deliver authoritative analysis and insightful, in-depth commentary to provide an accessible reference resource on the major tax activities of a company.
LexisNexis Next Generation Tax Information Products Include:
Inside Tax
Inside Tax is a bi-monthly, detailed report designed to give accessible understanding of the hottest topics in tax and the relevance of these issues in a real world context, so that any professional can form an informed view for their clients or business to give the best and most current advice. This subscription based report is available in hard cover and on-line formats and launches on 28 Feb. Topics include: Review of International Taxation Arrangements (RITA), Taxation of Financial Arrangements (TOFA), Salary sacrifice arrangements, the recent Royal Sun Alliance Case, and the GST Margin Scheme and GST-free going concern provisions. Annual subscriptions are available to Inside Tax from $550 hard copy and $605 online.
“Whilst there’s no shortage of current awareness tools in the tax information market, there’s a distinct lack of comprehensive treatments of the current hot topics. Inside Tax provides in-depth feature articles in a readable and non-encyclopaedic form to keep busy practitioners abreast of the key issues in tax,” says Pip Hughes, Corporate Divisional Director, LexisNexis.
Lawyers Tax Manual
Lawyers Tax Manual is a loose-leaf subscription service, available in print and online. The product gives lawyers an easy, thorough and practical understanding of the tax implications of the common activities of their clients’ businesses, whether they are running a business, selling a property, negotiating an employment contract, or getting a divorce. It is a commentary product arranged on a transactional basis and launches in March.
The Corporate Tax Library
The Corporate Tax Library is comprised of three loose-leaf subscription products, available in print and online, each dealing with one specific area of corporate tax. They can be purchased separately or as a set.
