Global Chief Marketing Officer
Barbara Cooperman is Global Chief Marketing Officer for the global legal business of LexisNexis. She is responsible for global marketing strategy, pricing, brand architecture, corporate communications, public relations, Web 2.0 marketing, global accounts, and law schools.
Ms. Cooperman joined LexisNexis from Elsevier, the world’s leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information, where she was Global Executive Vice President, Market Communications & Corporate Relations since 2005. She started at Elsevier in 2000 as CMO Electronic Publishing and was appointed to Global Chief Marketing Officer in 2001. Previously, Ms. Cooperman was President of Marketing Matters Ltd., a strategic marketing consultancy; Executive Vice President, Marketing & Merchandising at Dawson Home Fashions; and VP Marketing at Revlon.
Ms. Cooperman has won numerous industry awards for her achievements. She holds a B.A. in economics from Trinity College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Ms. Cooperman serves on the Board of Trustees of Miss Hall’s School. Previously, she completed two terms as Director on the Boards of the Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation, International Furnishings & Design Association, and the Education Advisory Council to the Guggenheim Museum. Ms. Cooperman was elected into the International Women's Forum and is a member of the Harvard Club and Harvard Business School Club.
She enjoys traveling to exotic places, hiking and is an avid balletomane.
