FAQ – LexisNexis Online

  1. How do I apply for a trial of the Online service?
  2. I haven't yet received my user name and password for the Online service.
  3. I've forgotten my password.
  4. My logon details do not appear to work, are they case-sensitive?
  5. I would like to change my password to the Online service.
  6. I'm trying to logon but keep getting some type of proxy error.
  7. I'm at my Welcome page and have clicked on one of the hyperlinks and a message says "You have tried to access a product to which you do not subscribe".
  8. I've gone into the contents section of one of your libraries and the title of the library appears at the top with a plus sign next to it and nothing else (e.g. + Australian Corporations Law Library).

Please send an email to the Electronic Helpline asking for your logon details.

No, the user name and password are not case-sensitive.

5. I would like to change my password to the Online service.

Once you have logged into the Online service, Please click on the "Preferences" tab. Click on the "Change Password" link and you will be taken to a new window which provides instructions on how to change your password.

6. I'm trying to logon but keep getting some type of proxy error.

When you bring up the user name and password box when attempting to logon, if you are using Internet Explorer, ensure that the 'Resource', 'Realm' or 'Site' references LexisNexis Online or online.lexisnexis.com.au (Netscape users should also see references to LexisNexis Online and online.lexisnexis.com.au). If you do not see these details, you are more than likely being asked to enter user name and password details for your own internal network. Please contact your firms/organisations computer department and explain the problem you are having to them.

7. I'm at my Welcome page and have clicked on one of the hyperlinks and a message says "You have tried to access a product to which you do not subscribe".

Please ensure that the link you are trying to access is one which you have trial access to or one which you subscribe to. If you are not sure of your current subscriptions, please call 1800 999 906 or email Electronic Helpline for details.

8. I've gone into the contents section of one of your libraries and the title of the library appears at the top with a plus sign next to it and nothing else (e.g. + Australian Corporations Law Library).

Simply click once on the plus sign and the tree of contents will expand showing you further details.
