ASX
The Australian Securities Exchange is responsible for overseeing the operation of the securities exchange.  It administers the exchange in accordance with the ASX Listing Rules and ASX - Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations, 2nd ed (August 2007).

ASIC
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Corporations Act.  This site provides information how to start a company, financial reporting, information regarding insolvency, managed investment schemes,  as well as information for financial services professionals, auditors and liquidators.  Regulatory Guides and information sheets explain ASIC’s position on certain matters.
