by Hilary Kincaid 23. August 2010 18:14

The Australian Investor Relations Association (AIRA) has released the results of the 2010 "Retail investors' use of electronic communications and social media" survey. The survey, conducted with the help of the Australian and New Zealand Shareholders' Associations, revealed some key trends:

  • 73% of respondents are happy to receive annual reports electronically (solely);
  • 11% of respondents say that information found on social media has influenced an investment decision;
  • 73% of investors want to be notified of a market announcement by no later than 3 hours following its release; and
  • Retail investors want listed entity websites to work better on smartphones and with mobile access.
