For ease-of-use Lexis Visualfiles is delivered inside your email program. It provides a matter centric view of documents, email, contacts and financial data in a simple, fee-earner friendly interface.

The interface provides a simple drag and drop function, pick list and automated email filing options. For mobile workers the system provides secure remote access via the web or alternatively offline working via the briefcase functionality.

Lexis Visualfiles decreases the amount of time spent on producing forms, and easily implements a consistent approach in terms of house style across the organisation.

The document preview pane is embedded in VF history and document review screens, and in some document selection dialogs, enabling documents and emails of various types to be viewed without opening, in the same way as the equivalent in Outlook.

Document preview is an option for Visualfiles customers with v2.4.3.0 or later.

• The preview pane makes it much quicker and easier to scan history in that the user does not have to click on and open the underlying document in its native application. This provides a saving of several seconds for each document viewed.

• For legacy documents of old or obsolete file types - eg WordPerfect 5.1 - documents may be viewed without the need for original native applications to be installed.
• Quick View Plus supports over 300 file formats.
• Quick View Plus is available to licensed users taking the Visualfiles document preview module as a stand-alone desktop application, allowing its advanced search and viewing facilities to be used outside of Visualfiles.

Licensing:

• A Visualfiles licence key is required to activate document preview functionality system-wide.
• Quick View Plus is a client application and is licensed per installed user.
• The document preview functionality will only appear on a user's pc if the Visualfiles system is licensed for Preview and their machine has QVP installed. Visualfiles determines if QVP is installed by checking in the registry for an entry that returns the full filename for the QVP executable.

Installation / Deployment:

• The document preview functionality additionally requires a new active-x object called VisualfilesIE.ocx to be installed on each user's pc. This .ocx will be distributed with v2.4.3.0.
• Remote installation support is provided by the Support team
• Any customer requiring on-site installation support will be required to order Professional Services at the standard daily rate.
