Minimum Hardware Requirements Lexis Visualfiles v2 allows a SQL database to act as its data repository. Lexis Visualfiles recommend obtaining specifications for SQL database servers and the edition of SQL to suit their particular requirements from their own SQL suppliers, due consideration should also be given to how many SQL Databases are running on the Live Database server. If Auditing and/or Data Warehousing is to be utilised within the Lexis Visualfiles application then the server should contain a minimum of 2Gb RAM. Lexis Visualfiles currently supports connection to SQL 2000 and 2005 only. |

Thin Client Servers We have detailed our standard requirements for Thin Client Servers below. Please note that Metaframe from Citrix is not mandatory – Lexis Visualfiles is supported on Windows Terminal Services. Microsoft are continually improving Terminal Services so we would advise users to decide if the additional features and functionality provided by Citrix would be of benefit to them. Please note that with Metaframe 1.8 there is an issue with focus when creating documents via the direct Word link – users will need to manually return to Word when producing documents. RAID 5 should not be implemented on Metaframe/Presentation Servers running Lexis Visualfiles as the creation and updating of the users temporary Progress files impacts dramatically on performance. |
