Exercise 4. Combining the Case with the Statute

There is an interactive relationship between cases and statutes. A case will reinforce and apply/interpret principles in a statute and a statute can codify and extend a principle established in a case.vIt is important to reflect the relationship between a case and a statute when presenting your legal arguments.

Using your summary of s 182(1) and a relevant case summary from Exercise 3, combine the two summaries into one to demonstrate the relationship between the case and statute. This preparation is necessary for formulating your legal arguments in problem questions.
